Just Trust Me

That's what God is saying to you today. He wants you to trust Him. If you never learn to place your full assurance and confidence in God, you'll be on an endless emotional rollercoaster. You see, naturally, we're emotional beings. Our attitudes, moods, and behaviors tend to fluctuate right along with life's circumstances.

We have to become more disciplined, so we're not always vacillating--going back and forth between trusting and doubting . . . trusting and doubting . . . trusting and doubting. When we don't remain steadfast in believing that God is actually going to deliver us, we end up leaning on our own understanding. We do what Abraham and Sarah did when they didn't know how God was going to give them the promised child, Garmin bluechart Isaac. (See Genesis 16)

They concocted their own plan. Don't we all do that sometimes though? We get impatient. We get "weary in well-doing." We lose sight of the promises and faithfulness of God. We begin to depend on our carnal wisdom, rather than leaning and depending on Jesus.

I want you to know, unless you learn to trust Him as your source, honor Him as your sustenance, and rely on Him as your sustainer, you will no doubt sink under life's pressures. You see, there's no way of guaranteeing constancy in life. What do I mean? You can't predict the future. You have no way of knowing what tomorrow holds. But there's an old saying I love, "I may not know what tomorrow holds, but I know who holds tomorrow."

If you trust in yourself, you will fail. If you trust in others, you will fail. If you trust in God, He never fails. He won't abandon you midway through your test. Unfortunately, it's the other way around. We are the ones who jump ship. We abandon Him. We walk away. We get frustrated. We get angry with God because we don't understand why we must endure such difficult tests and trials.

But I'm here to let you know, there's no way of avoiding times of uncertainty. There will indeed be seasons when situations look dim. But God is unchanging. His mercies are new every morning. He's always consistent, reliable, and trustworthy. You've got to hold to His unchanging hand.

Always know, God is just a prayer away. And if you call on Him, He'll come to your rescue. I've tried Him for myself and He's never failed me yet!

Until next time . . . . may you be empowered to prosper!
